8 Year Old Amoy Antunet is changing the face of Neuroscience!
I can’t remember what I was doing at 8 years old but I definitely was not conducting science experiments! 8 Year old Amoy Antunet is changing the face of Neuroscience! She has been teaching thousands of people all over the world college -level neuroscience from her bedroom! She teaches about everything from neurotransmitters cell division. She fell in love with science at the tender age of three and she shared her nascent career journey with LFE :
When did you discover your gift for neuroscience? I first began to like neuroscience when I was five years old. I learned about about the action potential, which is responsible for every level of neural transmission. Your entire human experience is delivered in the synapse.
This is a tough question because only a few young people know what they want to do when they grow up but what do you want to be when you grow up? I have two goals, first I would like to help to innovate stem cell research in hopes of helping people with neural disorders on a cellular level. I am also going to be a pediatric neurosurgeon.
You are so cool! How do you stay motivated? I stay motivated by not allowing the fear of failure to stop me from acting on my potential.
What do you do for fun? Do you have a lot of friends who are also interested in science?My friends are not really into science like that. We do share other things in common. However I do have mentors in Science, which is very important.
What advice do you have for young people who are interested in neuroscience? I think it is important to be able to inhale and exhale. Learning things is a form of inhalation, teaching what you learn is a form of exhalation. They go hand in hand. Sometimes we learn better as we teach. This goes for all students of the sciences.
